Proposal to provide rehabilitation services for MAIB – Care Consultancy

Care Consultancy is happy to announce that we have, last week, submitted a proposal for a new contract to provide rehabilitation services to the Motor Accidents Insurance Board for an initial period of three years. This is a great opportunity for our organization to expand our reputation and footprint throughout Tasmania.

The MAIB is a Tasmanian Government Business Enterprise operating to provide medical and income benefits to people injured in motor vehicle accidents. The Board’s core business activities include the assessment and payment of compensation, setting of insurance premiums, and funding of accident prevention and road safety strategies, among others. In total, the MAIB receives almost 3000 claims per year.

Our tender is to provide rehabilitation services to the MAIB in the areas of Occupational Therapy, Support Needs-Assessment and Case Management services. In 2015, this was a total of 476 rehabilitation cases. Success in this submission would result in a significant additional workload on Care Assessment Consultants.

Our submission was delivered on February 19, and over the coming months, we will potentially be undertaking additional consultation as the MAIB goes through their evaluation process. Should Care Consultancy be successful in winning the contract, it is anticipated that services would commence on 1 May 2016.
